This product, including the Unit-01 body and weaponry, is based on the "METAL BUILD EVANGELION Unit-01" released in 2019. The overall design has been reinterpreted by original designer Ikuto Yamashita, inspired by the concept of a "giant with steel muscles" and incorporating the characteristics of the METAL BUILD series. Its body proportions are similar to a human, with multiple joints such as elbows, hips, and knees made of die-cast material. Coupled with delicate metallic paintwork, the overall frame and "muscles" present a mechanical texture composed of various metals, departing from the original "humanoid" impression of being composed of flesh. Its excellent die-cast articulated joints, armor design closer to a "weapon," and innovative weaponry have all been highly praised since its release.
The rich array of weapon accessories includes a High-Vibration Particle Knife, Sanroku Annihilation Blade, Counter Blade, Electromagnetic Rifle, Electromagnetic Rifle accessories, Handgun, Umbilical Cable, a set of adapter parts, head visor parts, calf armor, a dedicated transport platform base, and a stand. The appearance and functions of each weapon have been significantly modified. They can be mounted on the hangar-style base, shoulder armor, and waist weapon-hanging rack, allowing for more diverse styling options with free combinations.
This commemorative edition further adds the third spear, "Spear of Gaius," which appeared in "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time." It features a completely new sculpt, boasting an impressive length of 37 cm, and includes newly sculpted dedicated hands to recreate holding the spear. The base also features a newly printed "Evangelion" series 30th Anniversary LOGO.
